Jai SREE RAM

I used to think that Ram became RAM not just because of him but because of his family and friends.

Sita might have said, the exile is only for you and not for me, there might not be a Ramayan at all.

If Lakshman had said, I would better be at the palace and wait for you to return but he didn't.

Bharat could have simply rule the kingdom but he didn't. When he is on his way to meet Ram in forest, a sage offers him a grandeour courtesy on a night that all his army and ministers say "the heaven is here itself. why we should go towards the forest" but Bharat doesn't stop and meets Ram. He could have simply stayed there and enjoyed, which he didn't.

Even though Sugreev got kingdom because of Ram, he could have simply denied him help (note that he is the king of the kingdom where Ram was staying at that time) but he didn't deny his help (might have been delayed but not denied).

When Hanuman goes to ashokavan and asks Sita to come along with him, she denies and says that she will wait for Ram to come and take her. She could have simply gone with Hanuman which she didn't.

That's why I thought, Ram became RAM. Just because of his family and friends

Then I realised, why did so many people when they could deny, didn't?

Ram could have denied when Kaikeyi asked Ram to go to exile, which he didn't. He could be the king the morning but he didn't choose that. I think that's why Sita and Lakshman chose him and followed.

He could have simply come back to Ayodhya when he come to know that his father expired and he is not bound by his father's promise any more. But he didn't choose that. I think that's why Bharat chose him and administered (not rule) the kingdom keeping Ram's slippers on the throne.

He could have killed Sugreev for delaying the search for Sita but he didn't choose that as he valued friendship. I think that's why Sugreev chose him to follow and thus help.

He could have left Sita and could have married another women, but he didn't choose that. That's why Sita didn't choose the option of going with Hanuman to keep the pride of her husband.

I think that's why Ram became RAM and not just these people followed him, but many people across the world worship him.

Jai Shree Ram
